460 DA Owners Thread

Vinyl is vinyl I can’t remember the color but I can find out if your local guy doesn’t have a book. The veneer is only available from John at restoration marine.

Anytime Sir! That’s what the forum is for. John is a great guy, follow his instructions exactly

Well I finally gave up on the original Four Sixty bubble decals and upgraded today. What do you all think?

I could tell you but then you would call me stupid for how much they were!

eBay. Sundancer was one and 460 fly was the other one. About 110.00 each x4

Money wise it’s stupid. But it’s a boat so whatever :)

I like the new look. Let's face it, we keep our boats for a long time because they are really good boats and we might be disappointed with something newer. So updates like these are one of the best ways to keep our interest going. Besides, one of the best definitions of boat is "a fiberglass hole in the water you throw money into". It's an irrational weakness.
Anyways, we are done for another year, a few "improvement projects" left.

Thanks Jaws! Bottom job looks good from the pic. You guys all need to move South. We boat all winter! Anyway, up the cost because I just ordered another 460 emblem for the transom. Oh well it’s just a boat buck.

Our refrigerator but the dust as well. I wanted the big Vitrifrigo unit with the refrigerator on top (8.3ft) but it wasn’t going to arrive until February. I found a isotherm unit (6.9ft) and installed it. Really didn’t like the install so had a custom cherry panel made to fit and then removed the doors and installed it flush. Not perfect but I think it looks good. I didn’t have anything to clean the stainless with at the time but all those prints are gone now!

Three years ago our "Never-Cold" fridge stopped working. I swapped it out for a Nova Kool unit, bottom freezer and I was able to trim the cabinet doors to adjust to the new configuration. It's a slightly bigger capacity but your Vitrifigo appears even larger.
The bottom paint is a hard, non-ablative over two epoxy barrier coats. Works well in the Great Lakes but our seasons are only six months long. The paint has had only a few touch ups since I had the job done in 2010, so it's held up well.

Absolutely would not call you that … so where did they come from and how difficult to remove old?

I got them off eBay. Just searched sea ray emblem and scrolled through but I can find a link if need be.

I just peeled the old ones off, then used lacquer thinner to clean off all the residue. Then wet sanded with 1000-2000. Cleaned it again and applied the emblems and hand-waxed around them. Then told my detail guy Gary^ to take care of them. He had a solid point, put a big piece of blue tape on them when he uses the machine so they don’t get scratched.

Placement is not exactly where I wanted but I wanted to cover the old because the gelcoat is lighter under the 20yo letters. Also the 460 part is slightly closer together then I like so if I did it again I would probably spread them out from the factory placement.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement switch for the hanging closet in master bedroom?

Is it a little button switch the comes through a hole drilled in the face? If that’s it, I replaced with a refrigerator switch I found on Amazon. I used a screw in snap to hold in place.

Thank you. I found one …. It’s the “SOUTHCO” where the closet door latches. Weird design. Appreciate you trying to help.

Hi folks. When pulling into slip yesterday bow thruster works perfectly to starboard but no port. Any suggestions on what to look for first?
