I just bought a used 1996 21' BR Signature Select w/ 5.7LX Mercruiser Alpha.
So far I love it..... I am in Wisconsin so I won't use it for too long.

Questions:
- What do "Signature" and "Select" mean or add?
- The rating sticker on the driver side says "190 BR". The serial # identifies it as 210BR, as well as dimensions and configuration. So I am sure it is a 210BR. Any clue why the sticker says 190 BR?
- What is the rating for the 210BR? By rating I mean # of people and weight.
- The plastic cover of the CD player bay stays open. It must have had a clip glued to it that keeps it close, but it unglued and is lost. Any suggestions?

Thanks....

I was told by a MarineMax salesman (so take this FWIW) when purchasing my boat last year that the Signature designation meant a higher quality vinyl was used in the seats and pads and that some additional seating configurations were included such as a driver's seat fold-up booster. I don't know about the Select designation.

My rating is 8 persons and 1250 lbs which I bet is the same as yours.

I have no idea about your other questions.

The select is the upgtaded version of the signature.

See here for info on the Signature Select:

Your boat is the same as my 200BR, I'll take a look at my plate and radio cover this weekend, but I think it is magnetic and there should be a little metal plate on the back of the plastic cover, top center. Be careful with it, I found out the hard way that they crack easily.

Hi, as for the cd player cover goes, there is a little plastic tab which is glued to the door. The tab snaps into a spring loaded clasp in the dash when closed. If the tab is missing then you might have to find something else to use. Ive never seen something like it in a hardware store.

On the cover for the cd player.... I replaced mine x2 they just don't hold up well. What I did to satisfy it staying closed. I took the acrylic door off, drilled a small hole in it. Found a nice small drawer knob for a jewelry box. Polished alumminum to match the gauge bezels. I reversed the springs on the door. So it actual holds it closed rather then open. The knob makes it easy to open it. Works very nicely
