The 3.0 L an LX have 2 different head designs....the smaller port lx head uses a 3/4" reach plug, the l uses regular 1/2" reach.

The boat place Im getting the plugs from said the plugs are different between the 3.0 and 3.0lx.It got a different head.I see no markings on this motor identifying it as either one.Only found the serial number.I know how to change plugs..lmao. The plugs in it now are AC Delco R42LTS

1998 Sea Ray 180 bow rider.Has the 3.0 mercruiser engine,Alpha 1 drive with a 17p prop.Right now it takes off quick but maxes out around 38mph'ish around 5100rpms.It also shoots the bow skyward and takes a alittle bit of messing with the trim switch to get it back down.What prop should I go with...
