I'm a rookie, and somewhat of a youtube handyman, so a couple of questions:

1) to check the sensor ground to see if it's the gauge - where is the sensor? is it the one with red near the tip? (on the right side looking down at it) It looks there are 2...
I noticed this on mine. When the engine is off, it shows 1,000 rpm.
Looking at pictures online, it seems a lot of boats from the 90s have this same issue.
Is this fixable, or is it probably faulty (which is fine)....just didn't know if there's a quick fix.
My fuel sending unit is bouncing my fuel gauge about 1/4 tank each way at times, so it's on the fritz.
That being said, I need to get a new one, but due to my oversight, the boat's been shrinked for the winter, and I never got around to figuring out the depth of the tank.
