i have a 2002 merc. 4 cylinder 3.0L with an EST ignition and it wont start. I getting gas and have good compression but no spark. I changed the distributor cap and rotor. But that didnt help, so i checked the ignition coil as per my SELOC manual, and that checked out fine. So i replaced the ignition Module, but still no spark. any ideas??? please!!

Kill switch under the throttle lever in the "ON" or "RUN" position?

Is the kill switch working?

I had the same problem, early this year! I had a bad Tach!!

Take the wire off the back of the Tach or unplug it and see if you have spark....Good Luck!!

thanks guys. i got it going today. feel like such an idiot. it came to me last night while watching tv before bed. the kill switch by the throttle. it was slightly down, so it looked like it was in the "run" position but was actually inbetween run and off. flipped it all the way off then back to run. fired right up!

It's usually the easiest thing first.
