06 240 SunDeck 250 Mag Check Engine

Hello All,

I searched but could not located a specific thread on this. Have my New-2-me 06 240 Sundeck with a 350 Mag out last weekend. I am now getting a "Check Engine" on the smart gauge. Temp, oil pressure, water pressure etc all look OK according to the gauge.

How can I determine what the code is being thrown? Do I need to buy a scanner or take it to a service center?

There are scan tools available for purchase, one called Techmate and I believe Rinda makes a marine scan tool as well. Do a search on here for scan tools and you'll find more info I bet.

Your 555 ecm is a complex piece. You have to do the 2 things you mentioned to be sure. Water pressure sensor is a common fault , but guessing
