What is the gray speaker connected to at the bottom left of the steering wheel below the cobra radio? (Attached pic)

next to it what is the cable interface?

does the garmin 440s require a subscription? Garmin still shows boat in wrong / old location

The gray speaker and the cable interface are part of the Northstar VHF radio (and are no longer made). Probably replaced sometime in the past.

I can't see the Cobra VHF in the picture so not sure what you're referring to there - but that would not ahve been a unit that Sea Ray would have used. However, as noted above, the Northstar is. The black, round thing is where your handheld unit plugs into. The "brains" are behind the dash.

No, there is no subscription needed for the GPS. It should just work. Go through the various settings.
