1986 Sundancer 270 toilet / holding tank

Just acquired a 1986 270 Sundancer. It has an odd toilet appearing to be a porta pottie that also allows overboard discharge via macerator but no holding tank.

Anyone have experience converting to a holding tank system?

Also, under the aft berth on starboard side is an area enclosed by fiberglass - seems to be a big, isolated box. Any idea what is in this?

Welcome aboard, David. What you got is a pretty normal set-up. Your holding tank is the bottom part of the potti. If you don't already have it, you can change it out to a larger capacity.

There's more than few threads about converting. Most recently, I think it was "abassking's" thread. Try the search tool.

There is a storage area under the mid-cabin - is that what you're talking about?
