I've searched archives and manuals on the Searay site but can't find a schematic for any of the 1993 sport boats. Does anyone know what size breaker is used to feed the accessories on the dash. It looks like a factory installed breaker right beside the battery switch but it's too worn to read. Need to know whether or not I can feed my new gadgets from this line or if I need to install an additional breaker. Need power for plotter, sounder, vhf, and some extra interior led's. I'd guess another 14 amps max with all gadgets running and vhf transmitting on high power. Thanx everyone.

If you increase the breaker size you have to increase the wire size... the breaker is sized to protect the wire.

I wouldn't increase the breaker size, I would either add my gadgets to the existing circuit or add an additional breaker to accommodate the new load. Just need to know what size the existing breaker is so I can figure out if there's room to play or not. It's a fairly thick wire (probably 14 or 16 gauge) and it's a pretty bare bones boat, so if it's a 20 or 25 amp breaker I should be safe to add a small load to it. If they used a 10 or 15 amp breaker then I'll have to create another protected circuit to run my new stuff.

The wire size should indicate the breaker size... if its 14AWG, then its a 15A breaker.

Thanx JimG. I'll play it safe and run a new feed with it's own 15 a breaker. I should quit being so darn cheap.
