Sadler,
If I thought I could get my money out of my boat I would love to have yours.
That interior is what I wanted but settled for the teal. You think the 290 is ok without the twins? It would be nice to have the bigger black water tank. What is the history of your boat?
What year is the trailer?

Over the 10 years or so I've owned two single engine 290s, I've never regretted getting a single engine. I sea trialed a 1997 with single (the boat I eventually bought, and the boat for sale here), and the next day I sea trialed a 1996 290 with twins. So, back to back, and the choice was easy for me: the single had plenty of power and speed (40 mph), had less noise and vibration, had one easy-to-use throttle instead of two with no hassle with syncing the engines, and lordy the engine room was so much roomier. The twins were easier to dock, but with practice the single is fine, and you've got half the maintenance costs, half the work to do each year. And I load that boat up for trips, always fill the fuel and water tank, and never have had any problems planing with 2-4 adults on board. The boat has no discernible "planing" and just smoothly comes up to speed if the tabs are in. The boat will go at virtually any speed without falling off or up on plane. With enough people and gear, it will eventually have difficulty planing; in fact I have some pics of when I had six or so people on board and was pulling a big guy on skiis, and I do recall having to get everyone forward in the cockpit to get up on a plane, but that was very extreme. I can say without any hesitation, and I put about 100 hours a year on this boat, that there is absolutely no lack of power.

I am the second owner. The first owners were a couple in Swansboro, NC who put about 100 hrs on the boat, and never used anything down below as far as I could tell. All that was wrong with the boat when I bought it was a little paint scraped of the skeg of the stern drive, and it needed the usual: new raw water impeller, new batteries, new belts, new plugs, and the genset needed a little adjusting to get the revs up to spec with the A/C on. We drove her home--a several day trip down the ICW with no problems whatever.

The only thing significant mechanically I've had go wrong with the boat was the engine to stern drive coupler broke a few years ago, which I had Sea Ray fix. I wasn't doing engine alignment and coupler greasing each year as you're supposed to do, thus the failure of the coupler. Since the repair, I've done both every year.

The trailer is younger than the boat; the previous owners bought it to winter store the boat in their yard to avoid dry stack fees. I don't know the exact year, but could look on the trailer for a date if you'd like. About a year ago, I put new brakes on the trailer and new carpet on the bunks.

I am crazy to sell this boat, but wife says sell if I want to move up.

I think you'll sell this quickly. I think I'd would have bought yours if I didn't already purchase a larger Sea Ray last year. The pictures at your site are great. Good luck!
