We just got our new/used 27' DA home and I can't figure out how to play a cd. The radio is a cassette but there is a 6 disc cd changer too. I'm sure it is simple and will feel silly when some experienced DA owner enlightens me.

We are also looking for a 1997 27' DA owners manual. I have looked online but haven't been able to locate one....any ideas?

Thanks

Hi! We too have a 97 DA a 330. Is the CD changer hooked up to the head unit. Ours never worked, the CD changer is there but the head unit is new and not able to control the unit. We also have a remote at the dash that is just taking up space.

What type of head unit is it. It is a Clarion unit or other manufacturer. If it is a Clarion unit there should be an input or a CD/changer button that will activate the cd changer... Its pretty much like a car stereo.

Its on my list to remove it and turn the space into storage and while at it add another 12 V receptacle there to charge my iPhone, IPod, or satellite radio when I use it with the the new unit in our boat which has a line in jack.

It's been quite a few years now...but if it is a Clarion stereo, I think you need to push the "Aux" button and make certain there is power to the CD changer.

Though there is no reference to a 97, depending on model year changes, there is reference to a 96 and 98 here....http://www.searay.com/owners_manuals.asp

If its the same Clarion as mine, its a terribly designed face plate. Jeff mentions the "Aux" button & I think he is right but which ever button switches you from AM to FM to Cass, will flash the CD number (1-6) and display the track number, (ie, T-01), ONLY if the changer has CDs in it.

Just returned from the boat... My 1998 310 with the Clarion CD Changer will not eject the changer cassette. Error 2 comes up on the head unit. I tried to use some needle nose pliers to try to nurse the thing out, but to no avail? Any suggestions?

Any chance you have no power @ the changer unit?

have power as the disc shuffle like its trying to pull the disc out of the laser, but motors just run for 10 - 15 seconds, then stop. Will not eject, will not play, beginning to think I may have loaded the disc wrong and not its stuck in the laser and cannot be removed.

The cartridge will only go in one way so the only way it could be "loaded wrong" would be the discs are upside down & that would not affect your eject issues. Did you load the cds that are in it now? The "shuffle" you hear may just be the unit looking for discs in each of the 6 slots. Can you feel the eject button move up & down inside the changer? I'm wondering if it could be stuck.

This happened to me once, a cd is hung up and will not go back in the slot. I took the player from the bracket, held it on it's side, and smacked the left side of the player on my hand. That jostled the cd back in the slot enough that when I applied power again, it ejected.

Thanks for all that responded to my cd changer question.
Now I have another, go-hokies mentioned a changer cassette....I don't have one. Could that possibly be my problem?

I think what go-hokies is calling a cassette, I'm refering to as the cartridge. I also think this thread may be getting a little mixed up so let me start back @ square 1 & ask this - Miller's- Did you load the CD's that are currently in the unit?

"Very interesting", as Arty Johnson said on Laugh-in. I cannot get the CD cartridge/magazine to eject in my Clarion Stereo/CD player. I know there is one CD in there because it keeps playing over, and over, and over again. I press the "eject button" but nothing happens. I tried to pry lightly in all different direction with a slim screw driver hoping to free it, but to no avail. I would really like to add some of my favorite CD's to this 6-disc magazine, but can't until I can get it to eject. All other parts of the Clarion unit work fine including the remote access from the dashboard.

Any suggestions?

I had a disc in my cartridge / magazine that would not play or eject. As suggested on an earlier post, I had to remove the cd changer so that I could remove metal cover to get to jammed disc. It 4 small screws... 2 are hidden and 2 are hidden and almost impossible to reach. Was able to get out and un-jam disc, with re-install it was about a 1 hour job.

Yes, I did load the cd's that are in the changer.
