[Blue Water Bound]

Have a problem with the door going down to the galley. Sliding door with built in steps for the walk thru windshield. Door is difficult to open. door appears to bind when opening. Any suggestions to correct this?

This door is a common problem. There are plenty of threads here on CSR dealing with the door, more specifically its trucks, rollers & tracks. Use the advanced search feature to find the threads but what you'll read, in a nutshell is...

If the parts are not damaged, the tracks, especially the bottom are probably just covered in dirt & grime. Use a low flow from the water hose to completely flush the bottom track out. Do not use a wet lubricant like WD40 or grease as this will just attract & hold more dirt & turn it into more grime.

Do not use the steps without the door being closed & latched as this is the best way to damage the tracks & rollers. The important thing is that the tracks must be kept clean.

Check to make sure a screw has not come lose in the track.

...or on mine the sliders on the door came loose.. on a couple of screws in each one.

It was extremely hard to bolt them back on again without removing the door... which as far as I could tell meant removing the helm too.. Oh joy.

Having bolted the one slider back to the door, mine is still tough to open and close so I just live with it. But there's a knack of pulling it out and up a bit at the same time as sliding which makes it easier.
