hello everyone.we are selling our 1999 330 da, and we have a serious interest looking. he asked me about fuel consumption, and i quoted him about 1mpg, at 3200 rpm, cruising at about 24 knots by gps data.
can anyone with experience with a similar vessel share with me their data? i would like to provide objective, impartial data for the potential buyer.
i really appreciate any rteplys.
thanks, chris

Reported GPH on our 1995 330 with carburated 7.4s is 30 GPH. We average around 23-25 running at 3300 - 3400 RPMs.

Which horizons?

[EDIT ADD]

I have 6.2's mated to 1.5:1 Velvet Drives and average 22 GPH at 22 knots. That equates to 1 NMPG or 1.15 SMPG. Cruising RPM for the 6.2 is between 3700 and 4200 RPM.

thanks for the replys. should have been more specific. we have 7.4l horizons.
for what it is worht, i found a 1999 sea ray data book through a local broker, and it states:

12.4 gal/hr each
thus 24.8 gph for both, at 3000 rpm stated
we cruise at 3200, by gps get ~24 knots, that is 27.6 mph
if i add ~10% to get from 3000 to 3200, makes 27.3 gph
27.6/27.3=~1.01 mpg

this is my logic. does anyone fundamentally disagree or see a flaw in this calculation?
remember, i am looking for a ballpark figure, and i feel like this is failry sound logic.
thanks, chris

that's probably close enough. i'd say btwn 0.9 & 1.1mpg. i get, if i'm lucky, around 0.7mpg at 18mph, but i've got about 5500lbs more weight, a whole lot more wind resistance and carburetors. :smt089
