Hello, new to the forum. Looking at a new to me, 2009 searay 240 sundancer.

Whats te going price on these boats? It does havethe 5.0 Merc engine. Any concerns with them? enough power?

What are you willing to pay for it ??. Low ball them on it. Its still a buyers market out there.

My friend Al just bought a 93 29ft Baysinker in mint condition for 5k.

to be honest, im not real sure. Want to make sure the 5.0 has enough power for the boat. Would 44k be unreasonable?

Hmm....depends I suppose. New or used? How many hours on the engine? Does it come with a trailer? I spoke to a guy at my marina last weekend who had a 2010 240 and he got it with the trailer for around 60K (I vaguely recall).

I got my 2004 back in 08 for 30K....it only had 35 hours on it and was immaculately maintained.

Short answer- its worth what you can negotiate it down to! I agree that it still a buyers market. Be prepared to walk away.

Hope this helps.

EDIT:
I remembered another post for dealer cost. Try this out based on your zip code and if nothing else it will give you a ballpark brand new dealer cost estimate.

In my area, a 2010 240 is
Suggested retail $69,442.00
Dealer cost $41,665.00

I could have bought a zero hour 2008 model at the 2009 Boat Show for $47K, loaded except for windlass. Lot's of nice boats out there if you've got $40k to spend. Lowball and see if they bite or counter.

I had a 2000 240 sundancer with the 5.0, but it was carbed back then with only 220 hp. It seemed fine usually, unless I had a full load, then it was slow to get up on plane. I believe the new 5.0 is 260 hp, so I would think it would be OK for most applications.

IMO $20 to $25 (depending on condition and extras) would be more in line.

It may be a buyers market, but not THAT much. I got 20K for my 2000 240 last fall as a trade in. I think marine max sold it for just over 23K. He is asking about a 2009, a boat newer by 9 years.

The price will depend on the options as everyone has already stated. It may still be under warrenty check this out. These boats can be pulled by a 1/2 ton but it is a bear. Ask me I know. These are great boats had one myself. 5.0 260 HP with bravo III will get you a solid 46 mph. This boat is all about the options. Air and other options will drive the price up. A 09 at our dock (SeaRay delaer) with Air went for 45K.
