2003 300 sundancer soft swiitch panel or EIM failure

The right helm switch panel control was intermittent. When pressing one switch, another switch would illuminate. Now the panel is dead, nothing works, lights, stereo, anchor windlass. I checked and reseated the serial cable at the switch panel and tightened the +/- connections at the EIM. How can I isolate the problem to the switch panel or the EIM. What are the chances it is something else that I missed?

I'm not sure you can go any further without swapping parts... if you had a friend with the same pad, that would be handy. It sounds like the EIM though.

Similiar issue last summer. Turned it over to MM to fix. The trouble shooting technique they used was panel swap off of a similar boat. The tech said it was easier to swap the panel and eliminate it first than to trouble shoot the EIM. In my case turned out to be the Panel.

THanks for the feedback. It turned out to be the Soft Switch panel mounted on the right side of the helm.

I just replaced port side switched due to failure of starboard down on trim tabs. My conclusion after many hours of banging head against the wall is that using a "good" part to replace the potential "bad" part is ONLY solution. :smt021 One little freakin' button set us back $400.

Shame is that with all of the great engineering at Sea Ray, they took a simple trim tab design and made it WAY more complicated then it needed to be.

She works now and that is all that is important....
