Still have a long ways to go. Cockpit refrigerator, bilge, dash, and more. Finally feels like we are making progress. We decided this would be the last one and we would make it like we wanted it. My wife designed all of the upholstery colors and did all of the decorating. I have added 3-110v outlets in the cockpit and one in the bilge with their own dedicated breakers. Adding 3-USB charging stations next. Have new exterior lettering/graphics to add. The cockpit wet bar has been a big hit with the corian. Enough for now.

We went from a 2007 44DB to this 2003 420DA. Main reason was for the cockpit space. We found with the DB we did not use the bridge unless we were going somewhere and on an inland lake, there is only so much "going somewhere." The other thing with the DB was the areas that were inaccessible due to bridges. The DA is taking some getting use to. After having the salon of the DB and being able to see out, the DA does not offer that. The MSR in the DA is smaller than the DB even with LOA being almost identical. The twin heads in the DB, both with stand up showers, were wonderful. That said, the bilge of the 420DA is 100 times better than the 44DB. The port side batteries, vacuum generator, and gen are a pain, but all else is much easier to access. I do like the cockpit. We use the boat year round. With the camper canvas and electric heaters for winter, the cockpit is like the living room. It is a huge area. I made sure the extension onto the rear bimini for the camper canvas was completely level. That gives us like 7' or more of head room under the top. I have not fully adjusted just yet, but am getting there. It is a fine boat, though different in a lot of ways. The DB had the 500 QSCs and this one the 6CTAs. From what I know and can tell, equally fine motors. This one does not have the Smart Craft system and I kind of like not having it. I never had an issue, but the stories of flaky sensors is something I always had on my mind.

Thanks great info. A bit bummed to be stepping down from our 48 but it is what it is. I am really appreciating feed back on the 42/44.

    Finally some exterior pics.....

Installed two Imtra 6” lights in the arch with a dimmer switch mounted above the cockpit sink.

We still have a ways to go, but shoulder surgery is going to slow me down for a little while.

Your boat looks fantastic. That's a very unique and cool hull color scheme. Is that a Sea Ray option or did someone have that done aftermarket?

We had it put on. It is actually a wrap. Did not want to paint it so we settled for the wrap. It does give it a rather unique look. Thanks!
