2005 320 Sundancer can't get above 4000 RPMs

Any changes, is the boat new to you, is the bottom clean, any vibration? Both engins stuck at 4k or just one?

If both engines, no changes and ran above that previously possibly bad fuel, bad fuel filters and or ethanol involved. :huh:

I assume you mean 5.7s.....any alarms? have a tech check for codes.

My 320 with 5.0s are actually 260's? Anyway, no problem getting over 4000 RPM if needed.

5.7 is a 350cid
if they are 300hp would they not be 350mags ??

5.0s were only avalable with the BIII drives in the 320 (the base power package) since he said 300hp and inboards in his original post i assume he meant 5.7s (smallest available with v-drives)

Have you checked both engines with no load? If all is good, then you'll need move on checking the underwater gear.
You don't give us much info. Was the boat surveyed? Was the performance the same during the survey? What changed?

Have you checked plugs and wires I had similar issues but not at same time also are the props the specified size and pitch

I can’t get it over 4,000rp and 23mph
I can get it to 5,000 by trimming the leg right up.
Fuel pumps ok
Fuel psi ok
Flappers ok
Distributer cap ok
Fuel ok
Compression ok
Temp ok
Bottom clean, leg & prop clean
New spark plugs
No beeping or fault codes on smart craft
No fault codes on diagnostic device
Serviced June 2023
Oil levels good
Throttle cable checked
Props checked for damage
No idea what to do next . Any suggested would be appreciated .
