Hey guys, I was hoping someone could point me in the correct direction for replacing the faux wood on the steering wheel of my sundeck? The wood is cracked pretty bad on the top portion of the steering wheel and was hoping I could get away with just replacing that portion of the steering wheel or if the whole thing needed replacing? Does anyone know where I could purchase the replacement parts? I would like to keep the OEM steering wheel as it has the steering wheel controls built in.

I attached a link the same wheel that I have.

Thanks!

SunDecker: did you already look at this steering wheel cover? Or maybe you only need the top grab section?

Subscribed. I have a similar problem on my 230's steering wheel and am looking for a solution.

I had the same issue and just replaced the steering wheel. There are lots of sources online. Just make sure to choose one with the correct number of bolts.

Were you able to swap the steering wheel with just the 6 bolts? Or did you need a wheel puller?

Thanks!

Just did mine. There are 6-allen headed bolts that attach the wheel to the hub. If the 6-allen headed bolts back out, just replace the wheel and the bolts. As luck would have it, 5 of my 6 backed out easily. #6 would not...since new hub came with the new wheel, just pulled the hub and used the new one with the new wheel. Not hard at all to do.

Where did you buy the wheel? Does have the controls built in or does the old control bezel fit on the new wheel?

Mine did the same thing after 3 years. Not covered under warranty. I am tired of it and will be replacing it soon.

I just changed the wheel on my '05 sundeck... cracked and nasty looking OEM wheel needed to go.

I went for a similar Schmitt wheel (Product # 10438380 | Mfg # PU011111)

The unit came with a new hub but I don't have a puller... so I just pulled out the 6 allen screws and popped the new wheel on. NOTE: The OEM screws and aftermarket screws were different sizes heads. Same threads but diff head. 4mm vs 5mm IIRC.
