Hello,
I am new to the site and currently own a 95 BR 195.

We have the opportunity to purchase a 2002 220 BR, 5.0 (not sure of the drive).

Does anyone out there have one, any know issues with this year or model?

Your feedback is appreciated.

Don't know much about that model, but...

Good luck and welcome to CSR!

I've got a 2004 model. Love the boat, a lot of storage, heavy enough to cut through the chop. I haven't had any issues with the boat. My only concern would be that the 5.0 might be a tad small for the weight, but that depends on what you're doing with the boat. I have a 5.7 w/BIII and we are watersports all day long and it does fine.

A 2002 Sea Ray 220 BR was my first boat. Loved it. Had it for ten mostly trouble free years before selling it to my sister and brother-in-law when we moved up to our 320. They still have it and it still looks great and is running strong with routine maintenance. It has the 5.0 with BIII drive and would top out at 50+mph when trimmed out. Hole shot wasn't bad for water sports but it is a sport boat and not a master craft.

Yep, a 5.7 would be better, 496 would be better still. But if the boat is well-maintained, the price is right, and it meets your needs then the 5.0 (w/BIII) would not be a concern.

Good luck!

I have a 2001 210 BR since new. Is the 220 the replacement or a different hull?
My 21 has a 5.0 Alpha drive. It's been mostly a trouble free boat. The vinyl is starting to go, but then again it is 18 years old.
