Not my boat but this seems factory in many images I’ve seen. Not sure how the male peg mounts yet.
Perhaps this will work.

Yea, I tried to match the color as best I could, looks a little hokey but does the trick. The boat is 20 years old, it will probably be the last boat I ever own, so I am fine with it. I tried replacing the gas struts first hoping they would be tight enough to hold it down, but didn’t help. Let us know how your solution worksWith the brown matching the factory color scheme, that doesn’t look out of place at all. Thanks for posting.
Yea mine doesn’t have that, I like that idea.View attachment 154306

Will do but probably won’t be until next season. Brought (towed part of way with hatch up in all its glory) for shrink wrap this afternoon.Yea, I tried to match the color as best I could, looks a little hokey but does the trick. Pics can be deceiving - it is not big/bulky. From memory, it's maybe 3/4" thick (give or take).Looks kind of big and bulky, I’d like to see one in person
I have the rubber stopper on my 2007. It does keep the cover closer. Will do but probably won’t be until next season. Brought (towed part of way with hatch up in all its glory) for shrink wrap this afternoon.

However the bracket is mounted is a spot that can really gouge your arm when doing repairs/maintenance like port side spark plugs.
Once it's there, no one will know it wasn't meant to be there in the first place.I could absolutely see that. Thanks for the info. I might go latch - TBD. I read some Amazon reviews on the latch and one person mentioned using for a motor hatch. Others using for compartments on jet-skis, ATV's, etc. Plus it never wears out. With other latches (back entrance door, head, storage compartment) having some black component, this might even look factory. Might even consider putting on the side of the hatch near the walk on path.
Only challenge I see is that the hatch has a piece of rubberized trim on the bottom edge of it and I can't see how the latch would clear the trim without cutting it. I'm sure with everything in front of me it will all become apparent.
