Got the boat in the water today. When I went I inserted the key into the ignition switch...as soon as I turned the key the entire switch assembly turns. Could never start the engine and had to pull boat back out.
PO had a new switch installed in 2019 prior to my purchase. I found the invoice listing the new switch (part #54-1842) as well as 1/2 hour labor for install. Only 40 hours on the boat since I purchased.
I have replaced an ignition switch on my prior S/R 180 boat. Not hard. The main question for me is getting access to the panel so I R and R the switch.
I believe I will need to remove the top instrument panel to gain access to the nuts on the back of the lower panel in which the ignition switch is installed. Is this correct or am I way off base?
As always....thanks for your advice and direction.
