hi guys. New here. I have a 2016 sundancer. I think the tilt/trim has not been working right since I got it. I only realized it when my gauge reading started acting up. I have called multiple dealers and have gotten different answers. It’s an easy question so any help would be great.

When I hit the toggle switch down, drive goes down, no problem. When I hit it up nothing happens. If I press harder I feel a click and then it goes up. On the up button itself it shows a boat on a trailer.

Is this right? Some say yes, but others say when I hit up, it should go up to a certain point and stop. Then when I press harder to get the click it would go even higher for trailer mode. Which would make since given the illustration on the button.

So how should this work? If it does have a trailer mode, what does the gauge show (ie 0% full down, 75% up, 100% trailer up) Thanks for your time

I do not remember a % on my ‘06 260DA. It showed numbers 0-10 on the smartcraft tach and had a gauge with a needle. I have the sender adjusted so that it was on 0 all of the way down and at 10, she was at the trim limit. At the trim limit, the trim to trailer takes over and brings it all of the way up.

You have been told correctly. Push the up portion of the switch and you should trim up until it stops. Then push harder and the trim to trailer takes over and trims to top of trailer mode. Sounds like your trim limit needs adjusting.

I agree. It sounds like your trim limit sender needs to be adjusted or it is bad. I had a trim limit sender go bad and it did exactly what you described.

Thanks. It’s been like that since I bought it. I thought it was normal. Guess I’ll put it on the todo list
