looking to tow my 268 dancer, does anyone know how much it weighs?

If it is between a 1986 and 1989 it weighs in at 4500lbs.

Be careful about the weight you use for determining the towing. Most boat weights are dry weights and don't include anything else...IE if you have 100 gallon fuel tank, 25 gallon water tank, 25 gallon gray water tank, big block (not 350 ci)-it will weigh a lot more IE another 1,500 pounds easy-heck 100 gallons of gasoline weighs about 800 pounds. I would recommend you set up your tow vehicle package for 7,500 so you will have a nice margin of safety.

Assuming single engine, the dry weight will be closer to 5,000 pounds. Our 1987 250 is listed at 4,690. Don't forget to add the weight of the trailer too! That can easilly be between 1,000 and 1,500 pounds! I figure our boat, fully loaded for fun with trailer is just over 7,500 pounds! We have a 10,000 lb tow rating on our Suburban. It's recommended that you don't exceed 80% of the maximum tow rating for longevity. It tows very well, but I also have to add the weight of the family in there too. That's easily another 600 pounds in the tow vehicle that add to the 7,500 pounds on the trailer pushing our Gross Combined Weight up over 8,000 lbs!
