Yesterday I decided to see what my speed was at 3500 RPM on the twin 5.0s on my new to me 2007 290DA. With 3 adults, 1/3 fuel and 1/4 water, I was at 26.2 knots. There was a very slight breeze, maybe 5 mph max, but the water wasn't glass due to other boat activity.
When I compared that to boattest.com results, I was amazed that at 3500 RPM, they were at 26.3 knots. Their test boat was the same other than 2006 model year.
Needless to say I'm pretty happy that mine seems to be performing in line with another boat, but I found it really interesting how close their results were. Seems these guys (boattest.com) put out real-life numbers, which is awesome since you can rely on the information.
Can't wait to go test at all other RPM ranges.
