Hi,

We have a 2003 300 Sundancer. The other day I noticed that the port sied sits lower in the water than starboard. Does anyone know what causes this? I don't have anything loaded off-center. The water tamk is pretty full ... could that be the issue? I'm not that concerned, but would like to understand the cause. We just got the boat this year ... we had a 260DA ... the 300 has been a great boat and we're loving it.

Thanks,
Charlie

I notice the same thing after running my generator a lot after overnighting on a weekend. The starboard tank has less fuel and the holding tank (on the port side) has more stuff in it. It doesn't effect the ride enough to require trim tabs, but there is a ever so slight list. A 10 gallon difference in the fuel tanks can make a difference.

With both fuel tanks near equal, regardless of water or holding tank levels - no list either.

I believe the fresh water tank is fairly centered. I have no list however, my Brother-in-law has a nearly identical 300 and his sits about 3/4 inches lower in the stern than mine.

Was your wife on the boat at the time? If so, delete this entire thread and pretend none of this ever happened.

LOL - My wife was on the boat when I first noticed the lean ... Luckily I bit my tongue ... then when she got off I saw that the boat still favored the port side. I really dodged a bullet there.

Stray Cat ... I have run my generator and the starboard gas gauge shows less gas than the port, but I thought one of the gauges was just inaccurate. The last time I filled up both tanks took about the same amount of fuel even though the port gauge showed the port tank more full.

maybe it's all the beer I have in the cockpit fridge??

Hi, I have just joined CSR and was hoping to get an answer to exactly the same question. My 1996 290 Sundancer with a single 7.4L w/B3 lists very slightly to port, for no apparent reason, even when the 30 gal. holding tank (port side) is empty. The boat was just surveyed less than a month ago, before I bought it and everything was o.k.
It does not require any trim adjustment for a stable ride when running but I would like to know why.

Thanks for any advice.
