I have a 2000 -310 da with inboards or v drives and 5.7 liter engines-I'm getting a beeping noise that doesn't seem to be the standard 2 beeps/minute non threatening alarm , it actually goes off either more than every minute and more than 2 beeps-but it's not constant and everything is running fine. I'm thinking that it's been above 3600 rpm's and it could be a red line alarm but I'm not sure that makes sense-help?

We've been having this discussion in another post. Some guys say a failed sensor like the knock sensor or water pressure sensor. I'm not sure what sensors are on a 2000 5.7 so you'll have to do some investigating. My friend had a failed water pressure sensor and when he went to buy another one he was told they fail all the time. It's that kind of product that makes you question dependability of your engine systems.
