I am installing a Hurley davit system on my swim platform. Would like to know how thick it is in order to purchase the proper length bolts. Also how hard is it to get underneath there from the engine room. Thanks,

It is glass with 1/2" or 3/4" coring. I believe I used 3" bolts with plenty of thread left over. Access was decent from underneath. Also remember there is a lip around the platform so you may need to shim to get the davit to clear the lip. You may want to use some Aluminum backing plates as well. The glass underneath was not that thick.

When I bought my (used) 2000 340Da it had crane davits secured by 3" bolts with 1/4" aluminum backing plates.

Thanks very much. I grew up on Long Island and spent may long summers in Bayport, Sayville, Patchogue and Fire Island. Where do you keep your Sea Ray?
