I had the port engine thermostat changed two weeks ago and at idle (or at 5mph) it runs about 140 degrees. Underway, it moves up to 175 degrees and will run at this temp while underway. If I slow down to 5mph, it will drop down top 140 degrees. Shouldn't it run and stay at 175 degrees once it's warmed up? Is it normal to fluctuate up and down?

I know you said that it's new, but the thermostat seems to be sticking open. What does the other side do in the same circumstances? What was the port side doing before you replaced the thermostat?

Thermostat on port side was operating just fine!!!! Port side sticks open more than starboard.

Before I changed it, the thermostat on port side was operating just fine!!!! Moved up to operating temperature just fine. Now the Port side "seems" to stick open more than starboard.
