350 MAG - RWC Flush or Not?

Double hoses for two reasons: The 8.1's use more water at idle than a single garden hose provides. If I can leave the sea cock open, I will also leave the ball valves open so I don't have to go into the bilge to flush. If I leave those open, I want smaller dia hoses which will be more resistant to collapse while running. They will be shut off at the water manifold in the locker.

I disagree with your final statement. Picture a fire hose feeding into the strainer. Water will be drawn into the engine as needed and excess will flow overboard through the water intake. Due to the routing, there will be no mixing in the strainer.

TopGun - I think you have the answer to my solution for the seacocks, do you have a part# for the snap on tool? Man, what a pain to get to the port side! :smt021

Also - i have the factory flush kit installed at the top of the engine, it is a pressure fitting and the manual does advise to Close the seacock. If you can post pics of your Mod, that would be great. I am not familiar with the atwood flush kit either.

It' s pretty amazing that i never see anyone flushign their engines at the marina.
