350 wont start...have idea, need opinions

Bought a new filter and added stabil today. i'll run it tomorrow when the weather clears up, hopefully it'll work itself out.

The solid fuel line from the pump to the carb isn't the line i was refering to. There is a small clear line probably .250 in diameter coming from the front of the carb down to the pump, like some kind of return line. That's the one that i noticed fuel and air pockets in.

If that tube has fuel in it, it`s telling you the fuel pump has a leaky diaphram and the pump needs replacing.

Would the fuel pump going bad cause the problems i was describing, or could it be a combination of the pump and bad gas? I guess i have my next project. The pump shouldn't be too difficult to replace, easy to get to. I figured it wouldn't hurt to pull the carb off also and have it rebuilt. 21 years old and probably never done so might be about time. Thanks for all the input and suggestions.

I would hold off on the carb rebuild unitl you are sure you have this problem fixed. Sounds like your fuel pump is the problem, but if you rebuild the carb at the same time and still have the problem, you won't know if you have a new problem with the carb rebuild or if you still have your original problem. Also, things like fuel mixture and idle speed have to be reset when you rebuild a carb, and if your engine is not running right in the first place these adjustments cannot be made correctly.

You're right, I didnt even think of that. Ill hold off on the rebuild until the pump is replaced and she's back to normal. Thanks again

New fuel pump came in yesterday and installed last night. Put on a new fuel filter and while i had the lines disconnected i cleaned out the filter that is on the carb itself. Had some crap built up in there so i'm glad i checked it. Started it up today and she fired right up. Crazy how the fuel pump was starting to go bad like that and causing the problems it was. Had it at idle for about 20 mins in the driveway no problems. Didn't jump around in rpm's or anything. I think i found the source of all my problems for now. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong...fingers crossed. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
