390 MY (2003) Shower Replacement

We are soon-to-be new owners of a 2003 390 MY (day can't come fast enough). The shower in the Aft head has a significant amount of corrosion, and we want to replace this (and forward head) with a water efficient (probably no more than 1.75 GPM). Two questions for those significantly wiser than me:

(1) Is there a "preferred" brand for shower that seems to be better than the others (we are looking for a "rain style" shower head)?
(2) How "easy" is it to change out shower fixtures (or is this best left to the professionals)?

Appreciate any feedback.

Need a pic. Mine can be purchased at HD or Lowes and can be changed out in 5 min....
