Surprisingly enough, a skinny guy can crawl in there through the deck hatch. Had my 20 year old nephew in it to assess and photograph my broken horn compressor, then a dock neighbor friend slid in there to install a new one for me. I wouldn’t have believed it…. Maybe find a local teenager around your marina. Plan to rebuild mine this spring, and understand that it needs to be removed to do so. Removing your V Berth speakers allows some access as well.
My stock props are 22x24's. I picked up a set of 22x23's from a guy that had sold his boat and had a spare set of 22x23's. Figured it would be nice to have an extra set since we plan to do the loop at some point. Put the 23's on in the spring. Seems to spin up a little faster as to be expected. Gained a little RPM. Not that I go anywhere wide open, but it will hit 30 with either set with not much fuel & water and fresh bottom. I have 7.4 mags 380hp each.
Sea Ray did put 26 pitch with Cummins engines in 2000 and 2001. Then they changed it to 24 pitch in 2002. 26 pitch would be excessively over propped for most of us. If you are reaching 2600+ rpm at WOT with those props, then your boat must be completely stripped down of weight from gear and food and stuff. For example I’m now at 22.7 pitch to be sure of comfortable rpm margin with the load I carry.
A prop shop can turn them down to 24 for about $500 each.

thanks for the replies, so here's my 2nd question. I rarely have shore power available so the generator is the go. But sometimes I don't want the noise such as when there are other boats moored close by or when it's late. What's to stop me getting a decent sized (100ah) lithium battery, take it to the boat fully charged, store it in the trunk/lazarette, and feed via an inverter into my shore power inlet. Then for those occasional needs (microwave, espresso etc) I can just switch over to shore power
Paul, no I still have the factory alternators. I swapped them once, trying to track down an intermittent charging issue. That is a really long story...
Other than the expense of some cables, nothing. You would just need to size the inverter/battery properly and make sure it can provide the peak power that you need and the longevity you would want. Just bought one of those things for tailgating so that I didn't have to buy another toy with a motor!
