I had Makrolon and as it went bad, I replaced with all 40mil. I had an installer do the front 3 windows and I di the sides and aft section. I wish I stay d with Makrolon for the front, but would continue with the sides being 40mil. I used O'sea and really like the product.

I'm not familiar with Makrolon - where would that compare on this chart?

Mquiet, how long did the your Makrolon last on the front three windows? Did you have Makrolon on the sides too? I'm thinking about Makrolon for the sides, but not sure about being able to open the sides. Even with bridge AC we do open the side windows occasionally. Does O'shea roll up?

So the reason I have 60mil on the front is for the ability to see through. The center panel used to fold up rigid. When I redid the sides and back I used 40mil for two reasons. 1) 40 mil does not roll up and I still pin them to the ceiling of flybridge. 2) O'sea has a light smoke, which is what I used for the sides. The tinting is great and does not effect my visibility at night. Makrolon last about the same as 40mil. They all start to yellow or craze by 4years and get progressively worse. Some people think the older clear looks good....until you lay it next to a new piece on ththe floor side by side.

Do you have any problem folding the stbd side up? Doesn't the helm get in the way?

Forward clear. Center can fold up to ceiling and I use twist locks.

I need your advice. Can you recommend a brand/model inverter? I plan to install a 24v inverter using my bow thruster batteries (2x8D) to run the fridge and freezer when the genset is turned off.

I have considered the same upgrade however my Ref and Freezer are both original equipment 2007 and I can replace them with multitap 120v / 12/24v for about $2500. I doubt I can get the inverter installed that cheap but even if I can the Fridge will fail as soon as I do.
I will need to run the DC wiring from the panel to the Galley.

I think that is the route I am going.

I'd second that one the price range. I have the EZ2CY as well. I'd probably never even consider isinglass now.. EZ2CY is sooo much better..

How long have you had the EZ2CY panels? Mine are from late 2017 and both rear lower corners have spider web cracks in the sharp angle bends.
Other than that the rear is holding up great.

They are repairing under warranty but the repair will include cutting the glass out of the corners and adding the white materials to span the corner.

My EZ2CY enclosure is 7 years old and I have people asking if it’s brand new all the time. I personally would never go back to soft glass after having rigid. My center panels on the sides, front and back all snap up to the hard top but I rarely open them with bridge A/C.

The only issue I’ve had over the years is breaking two panels which were both my fault. Do not even think about touching them when it’s cold out...

rlynch03, I did a search for Multitap and didn't find anything. Is that the brand name?

Isotherm makes a matching Ref/Freezer Cruise 130 and 90 that are offered in DC only voltage or 120v/12/24v which I referred to as multitap

Yep my daughter raised our rear panel in cold temps and snap...

I believe there are a few others on the forum with the EZ2CY glass...
