Hey guys!

Have a bit of a problem this morning with my 2010 Sundancer 240 and 5.0MPI EC.

First thing this morning everything we fine, no issues whatsoever. I needed to grease the engine coupler, and had to kick the starter for a split second to move the coupler fittings. Was able to grease the coupler and move on.

After that, I connected the shore power to the house to charge the batteries for a bit. While the batteries were charging I noticed that I had left the key to the on position and that there was no output to the gauges.

Now when I turn the key I get no output whatsoever from the gauges or the guardian system, and no power at all to the starter!!

I checked all the connections that I might have messed up while working in the bilge and can't find any loose. I've also checked all of the fuses that I can find and they all look good.

At this point I'm really not sure how to continue troubleshooting, and I'm definitely worried that I somehow might have fried the ecm by leaving the key in the on position while hooking up to the shore power.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!

Did you check the breaker (big red button) just under the spark-arrestor cover on top of the intake manifold?
If its tripped you will get the symptoms you describe... I accidentally tripped it working on my 5.0 one day.
Also check your helm tether switch, make sure its on.
Good Luck!

I'll look for the big red button, haven't seen that! Do you have any pics to help find it?

I did check the tether, however I think that if that switch was the issue I'd still get power to the gauges and starter.

You sir, are the man.

I found the breaker you were referring to and reset it, now everything is working!!

Thank you very much for the assistance, I owe you a few beers.

Cool!!
I was replacing my distributor cap and unknowingly tripped it, took about 30 panic filled minutes to figure it out. Its was odd because everything else worked on the the boat... just the helm and motor were dead.

Now I know to look for that breaker, I don't know how long it would've taken to find it on my own.

I was seriously worried that I somehow burned up the computer.
