Wife and I are considering a boat we can cruise with our two children on. We spend time in South Florida and have family there, we both have enjoyed charters in the Bahamas and would love to explore the Keys. We live in Savannah and spend a lot of time on the local waterways.

We want a boat we can comfortably cruise on and handle and that can accommodate our family of 4 with each kid in their own stateroom.

There are a few 550 Sedan Bridges in the 1997-1998 range that look good to us. I would love any pros and cons on these options, including things to look for (cored hulls? Proper props? Any known major systems with flaws, etc.)

Thanks in advance and I hope to become an owner soon.

Son, you're looking at a great boat. We have had our 1995 550 for 10 years and love it. She's always been a freshwater boat and it shows.

Ours is well equipped with Cat 3406C engines, dual helms, NEW 15KW Westerbeke genset, new fly bridge canvas, updated electronics, bow thruster, and a long list of other updated equipment.

The best part--she's going to be up for sale this summer. Due to a couple of things that will prevent us from continuing to enjoy her we've decided it's time for her to find new owners.

If you have specific questions about the 550 don't hesitate to PM me or ask away on here.
