6.5kw Westerbeke generator

Does anyone know what the service interval is for the timing belt on the 6.5kw Westerbeke generator? Ive heard its 1000 hours but im not sure. The boat is 30 years old now with only 470 hours on the generator. Should I replace it based on time since its probably original? Also who is a good source for these older Westerbeke parts? Thanks

I was able to get mine from Westerbeke. Your engine is a 1L Daihatsu, which is the same engine in a 1986 Chevy Sprint. I would go to rockauto.com and look for a timing belt for that car. Otherwise, take it off, and take it to a good auto parts store and have them measure it. They can match it. When I get a chance, I think I might have kept the sleeve with a part number on it for the last one that I replaced.
