Just realized I initially posted in the electronics section, so have moved to correct forum.

I have two pairs of these that I had pulled out of my Sliverton before I traded it in with the idea of installing in the 410. Of course the speakers currently installed are the 6.5's so am going to sell these and make my life easy and buy the 6.5's. They are only a couple of years old and paid about $350/pair for them. Looking to get $275/pair or $500 for both sets plus shipping. PM me, or e-mail me (ebrandon2123@wowway.com) if you have any interest or want to see some pics.

Thanks,

Erik

FYI - if you buy spacers you can use these JL's in 6.5" openings. Lot's of folks do it...myself included. There are paintable MDF spacers and molded plastic spacers. Available on Amazon. Cost is sub $20 for a pair...

No worries, and thanks for the suggestion. I had looked into spacers awhile back, but wasn't finding 7" ones. I may just have to let my fingers keep on walking and see if I can find something that is inexpensive and wont leave a huge footprint on the boat, but in the meantime I will keep these up here in case someone comes along and wants them.

Just this week went down this road on my 410. The 4 clarion speakers in the salon are 5" cut-outs. The arch is only 2.75 deep as the bolts to the handrails are in the way. After looking for a replacement I found that the 6" Fusion speakers are a plug and play option for just over 50bucks per speaker. 200watt max. Actual outer fit 6.5.

Just note, the JL 7.7 has, you guessed it, an OD of 7.7", about .75" more than a typical 6.5 witch will be around 7" OD. IF depth is not an issue, I suggest opening the hole to accommodate the 7.7, skip a spacer. You will need a custom spacer or a spacer that designed for the JL 7.7. its not an 8" but larger than a typical 6.5".

I have the 7.7 MX series JL's in my 400DA's cockpit.
The two forward ones I simply cut the holes a bit larger (required to be enlarged offset from original hole); they fit just fine.
The two aft ones I pulled the upholstered panels and stripped back the vinyl then cut the holes larger, re stapled the vinyl, and reinstalled. On the Stbd. side there is a large flex conduit behind the speaker that needs to be pushed aside and secured. These fit also.
The M series JL's are about the finest speaker that can be had - I'd keep them and install on the boat.
