8.1 420HP HO fuel filters

Hi all:

I tried searching, but I'm not having any luck. I'm sure it was discussed before, but can someone help me identify and locate wether or not if there is a secondary fuel filter on the subject motors?

I helped a neighbor change out his cool fuel filter and bottom screen on a 2006 38DA yesterday. I remembered, after the fact, that there may be a second 'in line' filter on these motors.

Any help would be appreciated....pics would be great too!!!!

Take out the '&' signs in boat fix.

I believe the part number is 35 864572T

Look at this link

Look to the left of the oil filter on the port engine, you will see one on the Starboard engine, about Midway between the two inside elbows, you will see a fuel filter.

My boat came with this when I purchased it, th estarboard engine had one and the port did not. I have since added it.

I know this probably does not help and I also do not have the 420 hp engines, but the boat is a 2002 model. I am not sure you could obtain an answer from Mercruiser or Sea Ray.

Worked on a 05 340da with twin 496mag about a month ago, they both had inline and spin on filters. You'll find the inlines mostly likely mounted to the bulk head. Its easy enough to follow the line from the tanks to the motors to determine if yours in equiped with this set up.
