83 searay mercruiser 285 will not idle

Anybody have any ideas on why my 83 merc 285 will not idle. i did a rebuild on the carb and it seemed to run good at first then gradually it will idle rough then just stall. when i first run the motor it seems to run great for the first 5 mins then as it warms up it stalls out. im not to sure what else i can do, i thought doing the rebuild on the card would of fixed the problem. thanks for all your imput. really appreciate it alot.

Maybe the idle circuit is still plugged? What make carb is on it?

Possibly choke not coming off and loading up :huh:

I'm betting it's a Q-jet and I'm guessing it's a bit rich.
