I'm helping out a friend with his first boat, 290DA twin 4.3 mercs Alpha drives. The port drive goes down, but only up an inch. The drive stops moving, with the pump still running as long as you hold down the switch. The pump has oil, the pump does not sound like the one on the other drive, much louder and more high pitched, I haven't had outdrives on a boat in 15 years, any thoughts?
