last couple of times ive had the boat out, there are times where when I go to neutral , the rpms climb to about 1000 or so. the throttle is all the way at the bottom stop and I cant get it to come down resulting in some hard gear engagements which make me cringe. sometimes it will not do it. the other day when I started up from cold , the rpms wouldn't settle down either. I don't want to damage my trans , any ideas? I believe they are the CH4400 with the three adjusting screws , but I think this issue is unrelated to those adjustments. am I looking at an upgrade to a newer set of those controls? if so is it a relatively simple swap?
