A day late. SS Edmund Fitzgerald

Lol!

I have said many times on here. Those are not lakes. Badly named. If you can canoe safe, it's a lake. If it sinks a 750’ ore freighter it ain’t a lake.
The difference with the Lake, if you are a poor navigator, is that you will reach another shore in a week or so. On this Pacific Coast, you will also reach another shore but take a bit longer to get there. That shore will be Russian or Japanese or Chinese, though and you, without your passport...

Wow! I lived in Michigan for just over 38 years, and I always thought that the Upper Peninsula of Michigan touched Luke Superior...

This is a quote from the 2nd link above: "In the United States, the shoreline is in two states, Minnesota and Wisconsin."

It must be true. You can't put stuff on the internet that isn't true!

Sea Superior*. o_O

You guys crack me up!

The Sea of Superior? Someone should have told Gordon Lightfoot. He called it a lake numerous times. That ding dong...
Gord is from Orillia Ont. Canada, and he is very proud to be Canadian. A legend in folk music and inspiration to all CANADIANS... I believe (Ding Dongs) are something eaten out of an American Vending machine.

Keep it a lake, that way you can still claim selling a fresh water boat!

I just came across this, have said same about why I don’t go out on Atlantic. Stay on Chesapeake eventually I will bump ashore, call Uber and get a ride home. I don’t speak Portuguese.

sea

noun
  1. The continuous body of salt water covering most of the earth's surface, especially this body regarded as a geophysical entity distinct from earth and sky.
  2. A tract of water within an ocean.
  3. A relatively large body of salt water completely or partially enclosed by land.

Oh, and if you're sailing on Superior, Huron, Erie or Ontario, bring your passport and some Loonies as you could end up in another country if you lose power and the wind is blowing the wrong way!!

It's okay, though because the locals are friendly and you won't need French unless you get on the St. Lawrence.
