It looks great! What's your plan for the console? Rebuild it to match the existing or something custom? Keep the pictures coming!

I am going to paint the entire boat with 2 part polyurethane. Polar white. The raised area where the bow ports are will be a blue stripe all the way to the stern.

Not sure about the console. I can get custom panel inserts from www.frontpanelexpress.com for very reasonable costs. See the photos of the breaker panels. If anyone has any ideas about how to do the console I am all ears!

Al... Please keep it all white!!! ...You do not want a two colour transom, do you??? :wow:

The 390 lines are so clean, you shouldn't spoil them...

I would keep the transom white, breaking the stripe at the corner. I just want to be a little different. Not locked in stone yet. Any other comments from other owners about the stripe?

do you plan to go to the original dash panels, at least as close as you can to stock? let us know before you place your order. I need new panels for my 390 and maybe you could get a discount if you order more than one :smt038

Sorry - There are no quantity discounts below 5 identical units from frontpanelexpress.com. Each small panel will set you back 40-50 bucks - not bad considering they are made to your design. The engine guages panel will proabably be near $100. I will be happy to make my designs available to the group after I do them. You can modify them using the FPE software downloadable from their site. I am not willing to get involved in any kind of combined order as I am a lone wolf kind of guy.

The boat looks really good! SwimPlatform.com is where I and a few others replaced our swim platform for our boats at my marina. Excellent workmanship and worth every penny. I have been sitting on the platform with my chair enjoying the view.

I do have one question for you. did you pull the entire bow rail off while you were repairing the stanchions? If you did, are all the screws through bolted with a nut? I am having leaks from a few of them. Some I was able to use the screw driver to tighten up, put others just seem to spin. The end ones seem to be a screw and a nut, but the middle ones seem to be self tapping screws.

I did not pull the entire rail but I released one side at a time and tied the rail to the boat so it would not spring out. All my stanctions were thru bolted with an aluminum plate, washer and nylock nut.

Many were impossible to get to without doing a lot of diss-assembly. Many were wallpapered over with fabric. In a few locations the deck core was rotted out. In that case you need to remove as much rotted core with wires and picks. then fill the void with epoxy so you can tighten the bolts. In one case it was so bad I took out the core from below and replaced with epoxy and glass.

The key to a good seal is to use a polyurethane caulk like 3M 4000 UV. Most importantly is to use 1/8" spacers (3) for each stanction so that when you compress the caulk you dont squeeze it all out. When the caulk hardens give the bolts a final turn (1) to tighten things up. See my photos of the rail procedure on my web site.

My plan is to get one of those cool swim platforms - if I don't run out of money first!

I put the Swimplatforms.com platform on three seasons ago and have loved it since. They really do a great job with their color matching and the fit and finish is second to none. Without a doubt its the best addition we've made to the boat.

I have the swimplatforms.com also, great product...I only have one issue. The swim ladder is partially in the water and gets fouled by algae... Have you got the one that is hanging from the platform? I would like to start a new thread about our boats' water line once I take some photos.

My swim ladder is in the same location as yours. I suspect that yours sits lower in the water with the diesels than mine does with the gassers. My ladder is a few inches out of the water when the boat is at rest - no algae problems. I'll try to take some pictures this weekend and put them up on your new thread when you start it.

Great

I do not have an algae problem either. The only problem I have is when I pull off plane to quick. The ladder cover gets slammed up against the hinge than slams down. One of these days I am going to put a strap on it.

DrMicroChip when you were disassembling to get at the plates to do the rails, did iy end up destroying the fabric or did you just re-glue it in place? I take it you also had to take down some of the cabinets to get at them as well.
