Alpha gen 2 water leak??

Drive off, and engine out.....
How can I determine if the steering pin is the cause of my water leak......
I do have some evidence of a leak above the coupler... (lots of rust on it)...
All bellows are good.... no evidence of water in gimble bearing......

Next question is how do I replace the steering pin if that is the cause of the issue??
Research I have done shows the JR method.... Not sure if that is the best way to go considering
I have the drives off and the engine out......

[Brite Idea]

If you have the engine out you can remove the transom assembly and rebuild it on the bench. The JR method is for when the transom assembly is mounted on the boat.
