Adding an amp to a 2011 185sp. I've read conflicting opinions on how to wire it though. I planned on mounting it in the port side cubby behind the stereo and fishing the wires to the starboard side and using the power block. I think there is even an open fuse panel that says "amp". I read somewhere that the amp should be wired and grounded back directly to the battery though. Who's right?

It really depends on the size of the amp and the size of the feed wire to the fuse block. is it big enough it support the power needs of the boat and the amp? There is a big difference in wire gauge recommendations for a 150 watt amp running a pair of 6x9's vs a 600 watt sub amp.
