Amp question

I have an odd issue that hopefully some of the audiophiles on the board could help me with. I have 2 factory speakers inside the boat running off of the factory Clarion head unit. I also have 4, 6 1/2" Polks on my tower being powered by a 1,000w amp. Here is my issue: the 2 factory speakers seem to put out more sound than the 4 on the tower powered by the amp. I don't know too much about audio stuff so I can't tell you too much about any of the settings, but I do have the 4 tower speakers bridged off of 2 channels. Any help would be appriciated.

Do you know what model amp you have? Most amps are 2 ohm stable, which means you can have two speakers in parallel running off one channel of the amp.


Also, have you looked at your amp? Some amps have a level adjustment on the amp. If the two speakers coming off the head unit are hooked up to either the front or rear outputs, then use your fader to fade them down a bit, so those two speakers off the head unit match the 4 other speakers volume.

The amp is a Polk/Momo C400.4

I also did some searching on the web and discovered that the issue may be with my wiring connection with the tower speakers. The have a bit of corrosion on the wires and apparently that will effect sound quality as well. I also found a manual for the amp online and even though it was like reading a different language it did help get a better understanding of how to hook it up. If I remember correctly, the speakers are currently attached to the "rear" outputs and from what I'm gathering, the amp is automatically adjusting the sound for lower frequencies on the rear outputs. So, my next mission is to swap the location of the outputs, strip the wire at the speaker and ______ ______ ______ (insert any suggestions from you or anybody else wishing to help).
