An open letter to our non-boating friends and family:

This is a "tongue-in-cheek" letter to my non-boating friends and family...whaddya think?

I am sure this is going to go over like a lead balloon with my mother, but everyone else should see the humour.

Dear Non-Boating Friends & Family:
Please accept our apologies.
We will not be able to attend you(r)/son’s/daughter’s/cousin’s/grandparent’s wedding/birthday/bar mitzvah/funeral/christening/engagement event.
While your event is important to us, there are only just so many weekends in the boating season, and we will be spending these at the boat. If you would like to schedule a make-up event sometime between October 15th and May 1st, we’d be happy to attend.
If you’d like to schedule this event at the marina with us, please give us lots of notice so we can make the appropriate arrangements, such as hotels and restaurant reservations.
We appreciate your understanding of our summer obsession with the water.
To our boating friends, "See you at the lake!!"

Where it gets really sticky is when it applies to 12 months out of the year ...not just Summer.

Christmas Day on the boat is great...just hard to explain to those that haven't done it.:thumbsup:

TIC? Why? I don't get it. Could you please edit one for me that says something like rescheduling between 5 Jan and 15 Jan? We should be available part of that time. Florida and all. Hey, insurance is expensive here. We have to get our money's worth.

This site is great. Only here for 3 days and already more very useful info. I just emailed that out to my friends and family. My dad, also a boater, loved it and sent that to his buddies and the rest of the family's emails that I don't have. With 61 first cousins... a 115' boatload of 2nd cousins, etc, the mailbox is always jammed with this ones thing and that ones whatever.
