The anchor light on my hardtop is only lit on both sides when I have the nav lights on; when I switch on the anchor light, it is only half lit as it should be for nav light. I've played around with the wiring on the back of the switches without success. Am I missing something?

Have you had the 'all round' light out recently? Two of the three wires are swapped.
My wiring is accessed from a deck plate on the arch. If I reversed the wires, I would get what you have! (Ask how I know )

Does that model have a separate stern light (possibly integral to the transom - near the stern locker)? If so, it might be wired that when you select "anchor light", the forward half of the hardtop light and the stern light will light up.

I finally tried switching the wires to the white (anchor) light, didn't help. Turning it around won"t help because it is full on when the nav lights are on. The stern light does not light when the anchor switch is on. I've tried all the above suggestions. The problem must be in the switches wire connection which is fairly complicated. Can anyone tell me how the nav and anchor switches should be wired?

Is the transom light bulb burned out? Are you getting power to the transom light?

Unless the wiring has been changed by someone, the switch wiring shouldn't be the problem. You mentioned changing wires around... are they back to the original way? Have you had this problem since you've had the boat, or has this changed? How long have you had the boat?

Transom light works fine with the nav lights on. The lights have been this way since I've had the boat almost 4yrs.

So it kinda sounds like your masthead/transom lights are reversed? Meaning, the NAV lights should illuminate the forward half of the masthead light and the transom light -- whereas the anchor light switch should illuminate the fwd and aft half of the masthead light, but not the transom light.

I recently went through a similar situation with my Grady - but this was caused entirely by previous owners changing things over the years and only doing the wiring halfway. The boat originally started out as sterndrive model with no hardtop. Over the years a hardtop was added (with masthead light) and it was also changed to an OB. So, now there was a total mess of lights on the boat (masthead, transom and even a removable pole light like bowriders). The wiring was even more messed up. So what I did, and what you can try is to simply go through the wiring on the back of the switches and figure out which wire goes to what specific bulb. Sea Ray is very good at labeling their wiring so you should easily be able to match up the wires based on your wiring schematic in your manual. Short of that, you can jump 12V to each load wire and then move the wires around appropriately. Combine that with testing which posts on the two switches supply +12V at the various "clicks" and you should be able to get this under control. I'm still a little surprised that this wiring is messed up to begin with, but I suppose that "previous owner" variable is a very big one!

typically using a DPDT switch
I (1) I(2)

I (3) I (4)

I (5) I (6)

3 and 4 supply 12V
1 navigation and stern lights 2 fwd facing masthead
place jumper from 2 to 5
6 rear masthead light

Basic question: does the aft of the combo masthead light ever light up (is the bulb good)? I think that you are saying it is good and that the nav light switch and anchor light switch are possibly mis-wired at the switch.
Ah - I didn't see Bt Doctur's reply. Looks like you're on the right track. Keep us posted.

I'm going try jumping the wires to the switch as has been suggested. I figured that since I was going into the dash I might as well ask Sea Ray too. I sent an email to them a little over a week ago but so far no response.

Dennis, maybe you seen this , I have a similar problem and don't know where to turn. I changed out and added an all in 1 tower to my arch ( Sat TV, Sirius, GPS, Steamer light) , I have now power going to the masthead light wen I turn the Navs on, 1 leg is hot that turns the 360 light on but then cancels out masthead. Port and Starboard Navs work. Also anchor stern light not operational. any help would be appreciated,
