Boat is in Cape Coral Fla., Home is Windsor CO.
Boat Info
2001 380 AC
Engines
Cat 3126 350HP x 2
I own a 2001 380 AC. Trying to diagnose no reception on tv. have a Shakespeare antenna, no cable access. Does anyone know of an antenna/cable switch that might have been installed at the factory on an 01 380AC. I have looked everywhere and cannot locate one. any thoughts?

If it is the original it is not digital.

Some have an amplifier that needs to be turn on. Mine is between the galley tv and the sink. A round knob. Also you may need a digital adapter since tv stations no longer provide an analog signal, or a newer TV.

Antenna does not need to be "digital", but the TV does or a digital converter for the older TV

My 99 had a switch for cable vs antenna behind/below the TV in the galley area, port side. My 97 also has a switch but it's starboard and not exactly anywhere near a stock mounted TV. I suggest you start searching every cabinet and cubby until you find a random switch!

I'm a little confused by the comments above regarding antennas. There's no such thing as a "digital" antenna. Your TV needs to be able to receive a digital signal to work over-the-air these days but the antennas from 1970 and beyond still work like a champ. There is no need to do anything with your antenna, assuming it's connected properly.

Find the switch! It's in there someplace.

You're antennas never going to get good reception pointing into the water like that!

The switch you are looking for is called an A/B switch and it looks like this pic. As others have mentioned, your TV must be digital or have a digital convert box in its antenna loop for it to work.

No TV in galley.... don't believe it ever had one. I will keep looking. Only splitter I found was standard 2 in 2 out behind panel in salon behind cabinet where factory tv was installed. Original TV was replaced with a smart TV. Coax does run from antenna input on tv to the standard splitter. Last owner used his cell phone for wi fi tv. As you can see by avatar I am technology challenged and could never figure out how to do that!

For some reason every Avatar I try is upside down

J/k Edit the picture slightly before you upload it.

I don't think SR has used an A/B switch since the mid 90's. My '01 and '03 both used this Glomex switch/gain controller. When I want over the air channels I turn it on via the knob. It clicks into the off position reverting back to cable when plugged into the dock.

I believe he was wondering about the a/b switch so he could switch to over the air reception vs. cable. The switch you show controls gain for the antenna.

The Glomex switch/gain controller on my boat also functions as an A/B switch.

Tried to edit avatar, still upside down.... I looked hard for the glomex switch but could not find it. They must have hid it well! Anyone have a 2001 380 AC with this switch? Where exactly?

Your boat is about the same vintage as mine. Mine is located inside a cabinet directly over the galley sink.

BTW: your avatar is straight now.
