Any non-Yacht options that can sleep 6 adults?

We have four kids, obviously they will keep growing, and we’d like to buy a single boat now that we can keep for the long run, and ideally have kids join us in high school/college. It appears the leap from sleeping four to six is a big one, any models in the <40’ range that can accommodate six adults comfortably (below deck!)?

So your basically looking at needing three state rooms in an under 40? Don't know of any that will do that. In fact that's a tall order in an over 40. You really are pushing 45-50 to get that.

Agree with @SKybolt. Some of the late 90s early 2000s Sea Ray Sedans and ACs came with 3 staterooms, but they are in the mid 40' range, and crampy IMO. I think some of the Express Bridges had 3 staterooms. Bayliner 4087 Aft Cabin Motoryacht may be an option.

I grew to 6'3"; if your kids will then those short/crampy beds will not be fun ;)

We had 6 on a 260 sundancer…2 adults 4 kids.. kids don’t care. Our current boat can sleep two on the couch. Two heads are nice

I was thinking just that after I replied. When they become teenagers though, boy and girl, taller and bigger, does that change? I cannot picture a teenage boy/girl sleeping together on a small twin bed without complaining about the other. I did not want to be around my sister when I was a teen.

That’s when parents don’t care

Comfortably - not even on my boat. Especially on that godforsaken hide-a-bed under the solon couch.
The bunks in SR3 are good for small children (5 foot or less) and the mid SR is good comfortably for two and the forward SR is good comfortably for two.
I've been to the Bahamas with six for ten days. The Air Conditioned bridge made a good birth so we made it comfortable.

Thanks everyone, I figured that was the case, but held out hope there was some secret model that maybe had a queen couch in the middle or something. 4 kids really throws a wrench in the plan!

We have a 400 sedan bridge with a 3 berth layout. It's great for weekends away with friends.

Bunks on starboard and singles or convert to double on port with forward master.

Wrench? I think adventure and fun. Find a good boat to have fun and do overnight adventures when they are young, bulletproof, and resilient. Heck, kids are most comfortable in a sleeping bag on the floor. Then, as the family matures, grow the boat if that is the direction for everyone.

There was a post awhile ago about some crazy pontoon conversion. something like this.

Well.....for me I'm really glad that my kids were not the reason I bought my boat. First......putting four teenage girls in a confined space just is a bad idea and second only one of them wanted to actually go out on the boat.

It was just far too much drama trying to accommodate everyone's feelings when all I wanted to do is go boating.

We had a 27. Slept 4, 2 adults and 2 kids. Rather than going bigger, we did opposite, went smaller. Oops sorry, can’t accommodate you, no you cant come on our boat, just wife and me. I have no desire to ‘entertain’ anyone. Go get your own dam shrimp and cocktails.

You can sleep 6 adults on a Sea Ray 390 Motor Yacht. However one bunk would be the pull out sofa in the Salon. Boat also has two heads which you will want for 6 adults. The 390 motor yacht has a lot of usable space for its size.

Build bunks! Might be a bit dicey if you have a husband/wife sleeping below another adult. I guess that depends on what they're into :)
